Admission free. The exhibition is open from 12:00-17:00 Monday-Friday (except public holidays). Opening event from 17:00-19:00 on 14 August.
Tiiu Piibur’s painting exhibition Eesti Kuld/Estonian Gold/ and Eva Pajus’ designer clothes entitled Loodusega üks /At One with Nature/
Tiiu Piiburis an artist for whom all of life is a creative work. A significant portion of her own art comprises nature paintings, and this year, as part of the celebrations of the centenary of the Republic of Estonia, she is organising a travelling exhibition entitled ‘Estonian Gold’ that will culminate in the corridor club of the Creative Hub from 15-29 August. Her paintings will be complemented by an exhibition of clothes designed by Eva Pajus.
Piibur’s paintings invite the viewer to think about their roots and where they come from. “Estonians live in a hallowed land where they are well kept, and they should be happy that we have our own country and our own land.” Through small forms of mosses and lichens the artist seeks to encapsulate the call and voice of the ancient forest and help people discover the power within themselves.
Also being presented is an exhibition of designer clothes. This is Eva Pajus’ first collection. “Our forests are plentiful and offer so much to discover. In creating this collection I was inspired by the forest in all its richness.”
The artist and designer are also linked by being mother and daughter.
